Why Is the Universe So Vast?

I'd love to get more into it, but maybe before we go down the rabbit hole of mortality, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts as a physicist on why is the universe so vast. And yet to our empirical knowledge, we're the only ones with this sense of finitude, this anxiety and agony. So there's that question. It's hard to separate in the way you put the question sort of as a physicist. There's a physicist answer which I gave, and then there's me as a human being just a human being trying to respond to what that might mean, and what that means in terms of action.
