What Is It About a Reconstruction?

The construction era was a period after the civil war where racial inequalities were supposed to be addressed. The institution of slavery was reshaped into things like convict leasing and the prison system as we know it now. i bring reconstruction because i'm trying to hiligt how one version of oppression can take new shape and be given new life when the state uses its authoritarianism to reconfigure and adapt to social changes. So i think some folks believe for sure that we can cut off one tentacle of this ster, and then we'll be better off.
