The Life of Heinrich Schlemann
In 1852 Heinrich Schlemann married in Russia and had a son and two daughters. The marriage was strained from the start and his constant travels away from Russia didn't help matters. In 1869 he divorced his first wife after she refused to relocate from Russia. He turned to an old friend who had taught him Greek back in Russia. After meeting her, he was even more enamored with Sophia. They were married in October of 1869, and would go on to have a daughter and a son. It was encouraged to search a site known as Hissalik, by a man named Frank Calvert, whose family owned the site. By the end of his life,
