How Long Does the Perimenopause Last?

Around four to eight years seems to be the average duration of perimenopause. Symptoms can go on past menopause itself and into post-menopausal period. Some women experience symptoms for much longer, even over a decade. How many women in the UK might be experiencing these sorts of symptoms? There's not a good estimate out there but we can do some rough calculations using the ONS as population estimates.
