The Fed's Five and a Quarter Percent Rate Hasn't Really Cooled the Stock Market
The Fed Fund's rate is a five and a quarter percent, the fact that QT is ongoing should continue to exert pressure on the economy. Household net worth peaked at $150 trillion post-COVID and retrenched to $135 trillion. That's a stale number after the market rally that we've seen. So for now, it's 50 basis points extra of rate increases. But I think there is a risk. They may have to do more.
