The Cysteine Pathway

Cysteine is an amino acid whose principal use, in this case, would be to make glutathione. It's regulated primarily by a tiny handful of players that will activate or inhibit the enzymes. When acethenazeal methionine or SAM-E accumulates beyond the amount that you need, it does three primary things. The two enzymes that produce SAM-E are MTHFR and BHMT.
