Finland and Sweden Join NATO

In the current state, Finland and Sweden are joining NATO. What does that mean? Well, it's always hard. Like most government programs, new NATO members are advertised as paying for themselves or being a net benefit. So these countries are advertised on the front end as being net contributors to the alliance. But perennially through history, that's what we've done with new NATO members is to sweep the costs under the table and amplify the benefits.
