How Did Domach Get the Nobel Prize?

In 19 32, german bacteriologist gerhard domac was studying a red dye that hadn't been an effective anti bacterial in a petri dish. But it turned out to treat strep infections in mice and staff infections in rabbits. This dye was developed into the drug protonsul, the first sulphu drug and the first drug used to treat and prevent a range of bacterial infections in humans. Unlike salverson, which was primarily used to treat cyphilis, protonsul could treat a variety of graam positive bacteria. Domac was awarded the nobell prize in physiology or medicine for this work in 19 39 but the nose party had forbidden germans to accept the nobel prize
