The Laws of the Book of Covenant
The worship of God in ancient Israel and the treatment of others are inseparable. As times change, as Judaism moved beyond the borders of Israel, some laws became either irrelevant or obscure. This is why Judaism developed what is called a halakic tradition. Engaging the law is like walking a path rather than simply reading a law; it's taking time to meditate on it.
