The Importance of Understanding History
I'd like to teach college history so I can be a tenured professor and eventually say, "History is brutal" My grandmother on my dad's side grew up in Nazi occupied Norway. She saw a man walk on the moon and she grew up with oxen pulling carts. And another thing is, you know, if you understand history a lot more, you care a lot less about race - especially being an American. You need to realize that you don't have it that hard compared to people in the past.
