The Imprinting Effect of Testosterone in the Female Fetus
Prince: Testosterone has a massive impact on masculinity. If the male brain doesn't have all these testosterone vehicles, but the parking lot is full, the car drives off and there's not going to be as much masculinity expressed in that fetus. On the flip side, if there are extra receptor sites in the little brain of the developing female, these receptor sites actually look for and grab more testosterone. The body actually looks for more more testosterone to fill the parking lot up. And so that's how a woman or a small, a small female fetus is going to actually have extra masculine characteristics forming in their little brain - even before they're born.
