The Bible's Role in the History of Slavery

I think that in all of these instances where we have a verse that seems to maybe suggest that the Bible doesn't endorse the kind of horrific slavery. I don't know, I really struggle to see how this isn't one of the biggest problems for somebody who thinks that the Bible is the inspired word of God. Some people might be listening to this sort of in distress, because of course, they think that what we're hearing is horrible. But we know that the Old Testament is littered with terrible things. It's good to speak to someone who really knows what they're talking about.
