The Correlation Between Church Engagement and Mental Health
This season on the podcast, we've been talking about living in a new context in the US called the Great D. Churching as somewhere between 30 million and 50 million people who used to go to church regularly do not attend anymore. In phase three of our study, we looked at the mental health of de-church evangelicals and it became clear that anxiety, depression, loneliness and suicidal thoughts were all major factors in the lives of the de-church. So can you talk about spiritual formation and how it addresses the whole person and what that means for mental health?
