Why Is the Modern Education System So Resilient to Change?

LZ Granderson: Why is a system that's 200 years old so resistant to change? LZ: Where are the incentives misaligned? I know for the fact that my dad's a tenured professor so I looked at tenure and I was like, okay, you know, you have this cushy retirement and guess who pays the cost for that. People like me who take on mountains of student loan debt in order to pay for an education that doesn't lead to its intended outcome. And there look, there's so many variables at play here. You've got structures that are basically forcing well-meaning teachers.
