Part deu is a look at the hats worn by women in 19th and 20th century Britain. We have barely touched on the hats themselves so far, but we hope to talk about social change during this time period. Women were wearing shorter hair which meant that they needed more tight-fitting hats. The cloch had to be blocked out of felt for them to fit well over the head.
