Baseball wasn't always accessible to everyone. It could be expense to buy equipment, and not every neighborhood had a baseball diamond. So capitas emerged as a way to play with everyday household items almost anywhere. Georgie was also part of a baseball team, and he trained hard. But he would play tapitas almost every day with his friends. In addition to those sunday games, georgie's family made capitas part of their new year's celebrations. They'd all get together at his aunt's house to eat traditional venezuelan tamales or ajacas. Then they'd hold a family tournament of cap tas, hoping to strike many hondrones or home runs
