Gold cannot be produced on earth it's one of these rare metals which practically came literally from outside so the earth was seeded with gold from asteroids and comets. Gold has no real use case yeah it's actually even fairly hard to transport whatever but we agreed as humans that gold should be given a value as a kind of store of valueYeah I think for a long period of time humans will have both but why not?
