The Counter-Cultural Effect of Subscribing to Traditions

I was so thrilled when I began to go to Masses. It's this notion of consenting to being changed by something that's both benevolent and threatening at the same time. But it's very counter-cultural for anyone brought up in the Second World War. And people who come from outside the West don't necessarily have this problem. You could be a British Muslim and if you want to go to the mosque and follow Islam, there it is. So I submit myself to it. Yeah, are there things I'm not sure about? Yes, but I do them. The mystery is that the deeper you go into them, the more things start opening up and you go, oh,
