King's last book was published before he was assassinated. He is observing how so many white liberals who had been supported or even came to the march in washington for jobs and freedom. But its important to say that support for the more economic plank of the movement was not far, at least not to the extent that it was when black folks were fighting for voting rights or access to public accommodations.
