Media is a terrible investment traditionally, most media companies don't get to scale. Most people who start editorial products are not cut throat business people. People paying for content has worked for everybody from new york times to disney plus. If the media business can make content work in a paid subscription that is monthly, that is highly, highly investable by the venture community. But you're seeing them now consolidate and lay people off.
