Ryan Reynolds and the Rexum Football Team
The actor Rob McElhenney bought a tiny 158-year-old Welsh football team called Rexum in 2021 for about $3.7 million. For context, Rexum is a working-class town of about 60,000 people in the northeastern corner of Wales. According to Vulture, the town was hit hard by the near collapse of coal mining and steel productions in the 1980s. And they didn't ever really fully recover.
