In 1983, Pope John Paul II visited Nicaragua. His trip came at a time of tension between the ruling Sandinista revolutionaries and the country's Catholic hierarchy. The revolutionary junta after four years of power finds itself in continual battle with the Catholic hierarchy. Yeti Mitrani moved to America where she became a ceramic artist and raised a family. She never stopped grieving for her relatives despite the steely lightness of her telling.
