Buying at a Market
Do you go to a market to get an authentic old curio, or do you go to posh auction? It all boils down to greed, an atmosphere. You can often buy cheaper at auctions, but they haven't the atmosphere. These markets are full of tourists from about seven or eight in the morning until four or five in the afternoon. They know more than the burlington arcade and bon street mob so they can spot bargains that the bigger guys don't recognize without consulting reference books or specialists.
