I think the kind of general approach I learned at LSC as a graduate student. Poplar, Nakatosh and Coon continued to really apply that sort of general approach to the subject. Then I got interested in artificial intelligence - this was something Bopolektorz and Coon hadn't studied because it hadn't been invented.
