Betty Broderick's Story
Betty Broderick was raised in a strict Roman Catholic household. She went to college and earned a degree in early childhood education. The couple married in 1969 and their first child, a little girl, was born the next year. Betty claims that Dan was actually angry at her for going into labor during the first ski trip he had been able to take in years. Her baby's death, coupled with her husband's callousness, drove Betty,. who was only 23 years old, to attempt suicide for the first time.
