Yeah. Yes. These are the Jewish, the Israeli hostages who are being held by Hamas and there are some posters up saying, you know, we lost so and so they're still in in Gaza somewhere.
Speaker 1
And I think the reason the reason they tear down hostage posters is because it comes back to what I said earlier, which is that one thing that does happen is that Israel power sign gets framed in a very, very binary way. And one of the binary ways it gets framed is that like anything that happens bad to Israelis must just be liberation fighting and whatever and not a bad thing. And anything that the Israelis do is entirely bad. And the problem with that is, I don't care about Israel power sign. What I care about is the truth. And the truth is more complicated than that. And the truth is that on October the 7th, really terrible stuff was visited on innocent people. And so in that moment, those Jews, those Israeli Jews, were not the oppressors in those moments. They were the vulnerable in those moments. And that is now being erased by people who just can't bear the idea in the same way that the hostages posters are being told torn down because they represent an idea of vulnerable
Speaker 2
Jews. Well, I think the people doing the tearing down would say that it's a distraction from the core issue, which is that millions of people have been forced to live in squalor in, you know, outdoor refugee camps in perpetuity with no hope of a better life. So yes, the hostages bad, but there are millions of people who have effectively been hostage just for years. And we never saw posters about that.
Speaker 1
Yeah, that's not that isn't a reason to tear them down. I mean, I don't agree. I mean, you know, that isn't like if you want to make that point, make that point, you don't have to tear the hot tear them down unless you feel is
Speaker 2
I can't bear complexity.
