The First Day in a Mental Asylum

Norman Scott was shot in the head by Jeremy Thorpe. He has been charged with attempted murder and is being held at Minehead Police Station. But his landlady Edna Friendship gives him a phone call from her pub, where she had tracked down Andrew Newton's car registration. She tells Norman that they have spoken to 'Peean' - who he claims fired the gun but claimed it went off accidentally. The police are unconvinced of Norman’s story so take him back to their station for an interview next day.
