The Ten Thousand Hour Rule
The ten thousand hour rule was popularized by malcolm gladwell and outliers. It said that if you apply yourself to something for 10,000 hours, you can master it. But a more realistically, chess study of deliberate practice found that it takes about 11 thousands 53 hours on average to reach international master status. The book cheekily subtitleda chapter ten thousand hours plus or minus ten thousand hours.
