Stilico's Battle With Radagaisus
Stilico was more concerned about Constantine's usurpation in Gaul than the invading vandals. Alaric and his newly strengthened Goths moved south from Norikum into Italy itself. The Western empire took a nosedive from which it never recovered, I'd say this was it.
