The Chasm Between Memory and Forgetfulness
As an analyst, I write an amnesia, a patient's medical and personal history. Remembrance may be likened to odd numbers, which when divided, it always leaves a residue of forgetfulness. The self is formed by the many memories that unite together, all the while it also erases those which threaten its unity. In other words, memories which do not conform with our self image are often edited out.
