What Can You Pray For?

Prayer is a kind of casting about and recognizing one's own neediness. Thomas says that prayer is addressed to god secondarily, though he goes on to say that the saints are ntreated as those from whom one gets help from god. You can ask for in prayer whatever it's permissible to desire. Don't despise prophecy. The general rule is this, and it is very general, and has to be circumscribed and qualified in every context with respect to every person.
