Is Volatility an Asset Class?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on if you view volatility as an asset class. And I say that because there's always a question of how to weight it in an overall portfolio, or is it more a byproduct of asset classes? How do you think through what volatility is and how it should be thought of when it comes to investing? Yeah, you know, so I think you asked if you could ask a couple of all guys this question and they'll all give you like different responses. But I lean towards the fact that it is an asset class because of how effective it could be.
