I think there's merit to the ossification arguments that said there are known bugs in layer one that we do need to fix at some point with the soft work. There likely has to be another soft work and there's a chance of mistaken about that but I'm pretty sure that's the case. It can unlock some cool new things but at the same time it does have the risks of introducing a lot more complexity to the protocol. Adding yet another big new change is scary. So I'm on the fence. I think it should be done very, very carefully and Bitcoin core has always had a very conservative approach to things. That's why people are looking towards River as their Bitcoin exchange
