Monolith Versus Microservices: A Connection?

The monolith versus microservices thing has, has come up and it seems to be an ongoing debate. Is there a valuable connection here or are they two kind of separate things to think about? There's domain driven design does not like form an opinion on what to map those two Concepts that guide the potential separation of a logical system into different logical parts. It could be a build module, it could be whatever a module could be a Java package or something if it was taken to Java. But on each of these like levels, processes, build modules, let's say something smaller like packages, you just, you have live on withdifferent trade-offs of what you can, and cannot do
