The traditional idea right now is the materialist, reduction ist approach. You cannot explain consciousness in terms of a physical entity. So brain is producing consciousness, you can't explain it. Second big problem will be that that is a brain apart from consciousness. Why this idea is difficult to accept is we are so solidly entrenched in the body.
