Ventilation - What's Dead Space?
For most adults, this is around a hundred and 50 mills. And that's actually about a third of their tital volume. When we start adding in things such as ventilator tubing, h m es, cathetamounts and so on, we add to that anatomical dead space. So limiting those additional bits and pieces to what's absolutely required is really important. There's a great experiment you can do for this,. i'd highly recommend that rob fenwick does this for the next ten minutes or so.
