The Divine Condescension
The word in the Latin formula is triboe, right, to grant or concede almost. God gives us from on high so that he can draw us with him up into the divine life itself. We don't want to be condescended to by our peers because that's condescending. The forgiveness of sins is a granting of bestowing upon the sinner of the ability to again worship the true God.
