There's a ton of nuclear waste especially in the Southwest that turns people into well. Some of it is also very close to fault lines in California and all it would take would be like one major earthquake in the right place to basically like contaminate a large portion of the United States. It's really hard to figure out what to do with all the nuclear waste because bureaucratically it's simply just a nightmare. I imagine many of those bureaucrats don't really get up too much no they just like make TikToks with fake nails.
