There's actually a formula that the perfusionist will use so if after we put in all our lines. say there's lots of tubes Those tubes obviously can't be filled with air or we'd be giving air to the patient So those tubes are typically filled with saline which will then dilute the blood so correct You can fill it with blood instead of saline if you want to if you're worried about a patient starting off fairly low corrects Okay, is there a cutoff in your mind when you would prime the pump with blood is it 7 is it 8 or does it just depend on the patient?
