The Evolution of the Earth's Land Masses

Disease and hosts must have evolved in tandem from precontinental drift ancestors. Earth has rejigged and reorganized its land masses many, many times of revolutionary history. When you've got one massive land mass, there was an opportunity for animals, plants and insects to be altogether in one place. As things have moved apart and geography is intervened, you then get speciation and specialization in different parts of the world.
