Are We as Divided as We Have Been in the Past?
Right-wingers are not only normalizing such violence, they are welcoming it. It's entertaining to them. It plays well. You can't bank on the fact that it's going to go away and that somehow our political discourse is going to become more civil. We have had uncivil times in this country during the Civil War,. There are many historians who say, you know, let's not pretend this is the most divided we've ever been.
