The Nature of Plants

Aristotle wrote that plants have a vegetative soul or two, threpticon. He attributes nourishment and reproduction to the plant soul. The Greek notion of a soul is rather different than modern or even early Christian notions of a soul. We're not talking about an inner ghost person that moves on and has an afterlife.
