Christian worldviews that don't begin with God are vulnerable to catastrophism. The world is designed by a designer who's kind of smart, there's going to be some stuff put into the world so that you're going to see flexibility and bobbing and weaving from the planet. And we've had plenty of technologies that have been bad for a particular environment. But that doesn't mean that the math adds up.
