"I just didn't want to be poor in a band. I would rather have money to hang out with my friends and maybe help pay for the recording or pay for the t-shirts," he says. "A lot of people kind of feel like hey we're signed we made it without all the work and the toil and and the scraping by" Lament's first album was released on Atlantic Records in 1993 but they did not break up until 1994. The group has since gone through several line ups including Kevin, Jeff Mackie and Max Capshaw. They are currently playing at Bonnaroo this weekend as part of their 40th anniversary tour.
