I'm curious like how a lot of the training that you described around how to teach and how to build curriculum have actually factored into, you know, the developer relations work you're doing at astronomer. Yeah, I think in a lot of ways that I'm unaware of the way that I interact with audiences and engineers is influenced by that experience. It's just very technical, very different. And I had to unlearn some habits. But yeah, I would say the writing skills in particular have been really key.
In this episode of The State of Developer Education, Jon is joined by Michael Robinson, the Community Manager at Astronomer. They delve into Michael’s educational background in English Literature and how it’s helped him join the tech community. What transferable skills was he able to utilize? How unique is his perspective on the world of tech?
At first glance, English and tech can seem like two completely different areas, but if we look deeper into them and be open to new ideas, we can begin to make connections that make them almost inseparable.
