When I came in, I was really interested. John had done a lot of work and this is kind of when he was becoming really well-known in psychology. This is the social intuitionist model that it's not that we just deliberate and reason and come to our moral conclusions. A lot of times our moral judgments are these kind of gut level, almost like aesthetic judgments. Then we post-hoc, come up with rationalizations.
