Is There a Compassionate Way of Life?

Schopenhauer has a huge amount of admiration for classical indian philosophy. In the early nineteenth century he was delving deep into indian philosophy. Ht's quite unusual for his time, and it goes very deep. He doesn't think that his moral phil arrives at an ought. On the other hand, as we've just said, he's saying that people who are compassionate have, in some senses, a more correct view of the world.
