Watkins was known to police and social services as early as 2008. Rumors about what can sexual proclivity for young girls and children had been making the rounds on lost profit message boards for years. In 2008, he became an ambassador for the Kidney Wales Foundation because his mum had undergone a kidney transplant after waiting seven years for the organ. Touched by his charity work, Joanne got in touch with Watkins on the internet. And unbelievably, because remember at this point, Ian Watkins is a household name, the two struck up a relationship.
