Cameron: It's really, really hard for most clients to be able to check the recommendations of their advisors. Perhaps what you should do is if you're starting to have questions, go get a second opinion. Somebody who doesn't have something to sell you is going to be much more objective than somebody whose commission depends on you selling something. That's one of the problems within this industry is the distorted compensation incense the lower end of the market to behave poorly.
