The Three Elements of Jesus Christ
Think back to Jesus as the branch. Think of him as the rod that grows out of the stump of Jesse, the stem that comes forth from a lifeless tree trunk. Or think about the tablets showing what God's life up on the mountaintop looks like. Perfect obedience, this is the law of the Lord. Meanwhile, we're stuck living down here in the valley. And so to see the word that God has placed there, Jesus is poking out behind every letter. I think there's power there as well.
